Mr. David G. Ciarlette, CPA, Senior Partner

David started his career in 1976, when he joined Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company as a staff auditor.  In his role, he gained exposure to a variety of industries, accounting methods, and corporate cultures.  In 1980, David joined a privately held company and spent the next several years developing a strong technological background and an understanding of the challenges faced at all levels of private and public companies.  This combination of practical, technical, and accounting expertise allows David the opportunity to fully understand what drives success at each level of an organization.  David not only creates a plan for your business, but also teaches you how to "use" the numbers to understand your business - its opportunities and its challenges.
 
David earned his degree in mathematics and accounting from Lewis University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the Illinois CPA Society as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  Drawing from over 35 years of experience, David speaks nationally on a variety of business and tax issues.

During the past 20 years, David has invested his time in his clients and helps them to reach their business and personal goals.  He has developed Ciarlette & Robbins into a full service accounting firm and enjoys working through the challenges that his clients present to him every day.
 
As the senior partner at Ciarlette & Robbins, David provides consulting services and builds meaningful business plans for his clients by taking the time to understand their personal and business goals.  Keeping his clients' interests in mind, David draws on over 30 years of practical experience to help implement the necessary processes to achieve these goals. 
 
David is the proud grandfather of four rambunctious boys.  He spends his free time vacationing and playing golf.  He also enjoys spending time with his wife Judy at their second home in Michigan.
 
 
 
Ms. Jodi L. McCarthy, CPA, Jr. Partner
As Jr. Partner, Jodi is charged with new business development and business management at Ciarlette & Robbins.  Jodi started her career at KPMGs Chicago office in 1998 as an auditor.  Since then she has gained practical experience working as a controller at a regional architecture firm and in accounting rolls at both Northern Trust and Navistar.  She has built a comprehensive skill set with experience in audits, compilations, budgeting and business planning.  With nearly 15 years of experience Jodi brings significant real world experience to our team of CPAs.  She has been active in our business in a consulting capacity since the late 1990s.

Jodi earned her degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Illinois CPA Society.  Jodi also earned a masters degree in History from DePaul University.
 
Jodi and her husband David are parents to four children and enjoy spending time planning exciting vacations.
 
 
 
Mr. Steven F. Robbins, CPA, Partner
As partner, Steve serves as a main point of contact for many of our clients' tax and accounting issues.  He has been in public accounting since 1991.  During this time Steve has learned to step into organizations that have poor accounting systems and reorganize their processes to accurately and efficiently provide meaningful information for management to use in running their business. 
Steve's extensive experience with a wide variety of accounting systems allows him to efficiently assist our clients with a full array of accounting challenges.  With nearly 20 years experience, he identifies tax minimization opportunities and provides detail tax planning for our personal and business clients.
 
Steven earned his degree in Accounting from the University of St. Francis.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Illinois CPA Society.  He is also a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals.
 
Steve spends his free time with his wife Janet and their four children.  He and his family have farmed hundreds of acres for generations in Wilmington.
